Sujeto + was/were + verbo –ing + complementos
She was playing in the street. (Jugaba en la calle.)
NEGATIVA
Sujeto + didn’t (=did not) + verbo + complementos
I didn’t visit the cathedral yesterday. (No visité la catedral ayer.)
Sujeto + was/were + not + verbo -ing + complementos
She wasn’t opening the door. (No estaba abriendo la puerta.)
INTERROGATIVA
(Partícula interrogatia) + did + sujeto + verbo + complementos + ?
When did you visit the cathedral? (¿cuándo visitaste la catedral?)
(Partícula interrogativa) + was/were + sujeto + verbo -ing + complementos + ?

After when in a past continuous sentence to introduce a second action.

·         We use there was/ there were to describe scenes in the past.

·         Expressions of time or place go after the noun phrase.
There was some milk in the fridge.
NOT there was in the fridge some milk.
NEGATIVA
·         In the negative, we generally use the contracted from there wasn’t for singular countable nouns and uncountable nouns. We use there weren’t for plural countable nouns.
·         In the negative, we don’t use some. We use any to express lack of something.
There wasn’t any bread in the shop.
There weren’t any internet cafés in those days.
INTERROGATIVA
·         In questions, was/ were appear at the beginning of the question.
Was there a big queue at the ticket office?
·         We use any instead of some.
Were there any Italians on the coach?
